Two sides of the same coin

Holiness is required of every Christian and we are instructed to practice holiness as a lifestyle (Hebrews 12:14). However, we must stand against any teaching that seeks to twist this in such a way as to play down on the efficacy of the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse people of sin and who seek to limit the mind blowing generosity that is the grace of God that is in Christ Jesus.

It seems to me that some people are not bold to talk about the grace of God and others the holiness of God, or to speak of these two things in one sentence, as if they somehow contradict one another.

"Don't say too much about grace otherwise people would feel like they are free to sin" OR "Don't say too much about holiness or you'll bring people under condemnation - we are all sinners; we are all under grace"

Dear Friends, let us speak all of God's counsel and quit trying to control everything.

God is big enough to search every person's heart and know the difference between those who willfully "continue to sin so that grace may abound" (Romans 6:1-2) and those for whom the words "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One" (1 John 2:1-2) is a great comfort and re-invigorating tonic for a broken and contrite heart.
